Jan Groover, Kitchen utensils
Jan Groover was an American photographer known for her formal inquisition into still life. She was originally a painter. Groover’s exploration of space and volume was steeped in her interest in Renaissance works and the still life’s of Giorgio Morandi.
The drama in Groovers pictures arises from the tension between the form of picture and the things we know to exist in the world.

My response
WWW- I am satisfied with these photos because i feel you can really see a link between my work and Jan Groovers. I like how the shadow of the fork is reflected onto the other fork.
EBI- i added more characteristic to the photos and maybe a different background and more kitchen utensils.

Photojoiners
Hockney is connected to the Pop Art movement. This movement was interested in responding to Popular Culture
Hockney has also created , photo-joiners. Photographs are taken of the same object from different perspectives. The images are then collated to recreate the place, person or object even though they may look distorted. This work connects with the , Cubits movement, one of Hockney's major aims.

Ute Barth
Barth says that most photographers use the camera as a pointing device and that their images present the subject and content as the same thing. She means that the subject matter of a photo is the same as the meaning for example...
The criteria Barth considers when she takes a photo is ..... What does she want us (the viewer) to do? To make the viewer aware of their perceptual process
What did using a camera at school teach her about looking? It taught her that when looking at the viewfinder, you are not seeing the actual photograph. It is what your brain has interpreted it to be. So she learned about how to become more observant. She felt like the camera was teaching her how to see.

Edward Weston
Weston used a graflex camera. The benefit of him using this camera was that you could see the subject while photographing. Westons philosophy about photography was that hr developed his own photographic language. it had to be pleasing to him

WWW: I captured good focus and great use of shadows in my natural light photos and im happy with my edits too. Also some good depth of field.
EBI: I should have taken some photos from different angles and further away. Also focus my camera more as some came out rough.

Independant development
Edward weston used a graflex camera. The benefit of him using this camera was that you could see the subject while photographing. Westons philosophy about photography was that hr developed his own photographic language. it had to be pleasing to him. I chose to do my independent development based around his photos as i found them the most pleasing to look at and enjoy taking them.

WWW: I like how I captured the shadows with the unnatural light photos and the focus on the passion fruit especially and with the natural light I like my use of depth of field and how clear the photos came out. |
EBI: i should have gotten a plain background like some black or white paper so that they look more focused and professional. Also if I took them in a dark room with just a light for the unnatural light photos. |
