Camera Obscura
a darkened box with a convex lens or aperture for projecting the image of an external object , onto a screen inside, a forerunner of the modern camera
My Camera Obscura |
I made my camera obscura by using sugar paper, tape and tracing paper. i found it pretty straight forward and its good because you can clearly see what was going on outside which i was proud of because i made it myself, although it would've been better if the eye piece tube was stronger stuck on so it was easier to view out of. i sketched what i could see with the light so when

Shutter speed is the measurement of the time the shutter is open, shown in seconds or fractions of a second. The fastest the shutter speed the easier it is to photograph the subject without blur and freeze motion. For shutter speed the program dial must be on Tv.
Levitation
In this task i was required to capture some levitation images. I captured a series of photographs of my friends mid movement in the air for the levitation effect. In order to get successful levitation images you need to have the correct shutter speed and how you use your props.
Yowa yowa
To capture these photos I got my friends to jump in the air but had to make sure they had their hair up or held it down so it didn't look like they were actually jumping to get the levitation effect. I also had to have1/125 shutter speed for the right light exposure.
- ISO 16000
- 1/125 shutter speed
- What went well captured some good realistic photos but not enough so even better if it didnt look like we were jumping in some of them
- tips that id give to someone is not to have your hair loose or loose clothes so it doesnt look like youre jumping.

My response
in order to capture my Francesca Woodman photos i had my iso on 400 and a slow shutter speed (below 1/30) and me and my friends went to the grim, grungy parts of the school and i got them to shake their heads and not move their bodies to get the correct effect.
WWW: many of the pictures looked similar to hers and good iso and shutter speed
EBI: if I tried out more ways to capture the photos as most images are too similar.

Aperture
Aperture is a space through which light passes in an optical or photographic instrument, especially the variable opening by which light enters a camera.
Label each image with it's meta data (shutter speed, aperture etc). Remember, you can find this in Bridge.
Add other trios of images.
Composition
For this task I was told to find examples of the nine different compositions in the handout.
Composition exercise 1
I tried my best to find images that closely resembled the sheet, in order to do this I searched the outdoor areas around the school grounds and gathered many photos that best fit the scheme. I picked out my favourite images that looked the best and compiled them together.
